Are medical institutions and medical professionals in India credible?
A: Absolutely. India has become the cynosure of all the eyes as far as medical facilities are concerned. We have the world’s best-trained and experienced medical specialists who have also made a name in the UK, USA and other advanced countries. Hospitals in India compare well with the best in Europe and America. The taste of pudding lies in its taking.

What types of medical services are available?
A: You name it and we have it. All ranges of medical and support services are available under one roof. Some of the specialties are cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gastrology, gynecology, cosmetic surgery and urology. Please check our ‘Treatments’ page.

What is the price difference of treatments between India and other countries?
A: HUGE price difference exists. Please check for yourself by visiting our ‘Cost Comparison’ page.

Why the treatment in India is so economical in comparison to other countries?
A: Lower overheads and labor costs are part of the reason why medical procedures are cheaper.  Hourly wages in countries like India, Thailand, and Argentina are usually lower than they are in countries like the United States, England, or Japan.  The result is that hospitals are able to hire more staff – the nurse to patient ratios are, subsequently much lower.

Malpractice insurance usually isn’t as high as it is in the US.  This is not to say that the safety and quality of medical treatments are inferior.  It's just that hospitals can afford to lower their prices since they themselves don't have to pay as much to their insurance companies.

Ok, what are the other reasons that I would like to travel to India for medical treatment?
You require medical treatment, but your country does not offer the necessary procedure.
You require expensive medical treatment, but you lack basic insurance.
You require expensive medical treatment, but your insurance is not sufficient.
You require medical treatment, but the quality of healthcare in your country is not sufficient.
You can afford basic treatment, but the recovery and recuperation costs in your home country are out of your budget.
You require medical treatment, but there’s a long waiting list in your country.
You plan to travel abroad anyway, and you have a few procedures that you’d like to cross off your list.
You simply want to travel, explore, and see what all the medical tourism hype is about.

How do I make the payment?
A: The procedure is very simple. Before leaving for India 20% of the total cost of treatment is to be sent as advance payment for making necessary bookings of hospitalization and hospitality. The rest of the amount is to be paid on arrival. The billing is done directly by the hospital/hotels and they are paid directly by the patient. Quite a few of our patients prefer sending the whole amount of treatment to the hospital’s account in India before arriving here.

For our Fiji patients, FNPF also provides funds in some cases. The wire transfer takes 3-5 working days to clear whereby an ordinary draft takes 2 weeks to reach India and at least 21 working days to clear from the bank.

What is the minimum amount paid by the patient for all the pre consultation and to know the cost of the treatment?
A: In fact, we don’t charge for the opinion and quotation given by our team of doctors/surgeons on the medical report that the patient sends by e-mail or by post.

If I don’t have any medical reports or some procedures are not available in my country, then how will you tell me the cost of my treatment?
A: In that case our patients come to India first. We get them examined by our team of specialists. Diagnostics are done. Thereafter, we let you know the total cost of treatment.

What will happen to my initial payment if the booking date needs to be changed for personal reasons?
A: In consultation with the hospital and specialists new date of operation will be tried to the best advantage of the patient. In case there is unforeseen excessive raise in the cost of some special medicines or anything else that would be brought to the notice of the patient before hand.

Can I stay for some more time after my discharge from the hospital?
A: Certainly. We would be glad to make suitable arrangements in the hotels/apartment/health resorts for any number of days, for any number of people.

How do I follow up with my physician/surgeon once I am back to my home country?
A: The doctor/doctors dealing with the patient will always be available for consideration and advice. Your local doctor will be furnished with all the necessary information and future follow-up action. Our doctor/doctors will assist you through your doctor/doctors absolutely FREE OF COST. Telemedicine facility, teleconferencing and in some cases video-conferencing are also available.

If by chance operation at the last moment is not advised what will happen to the amount deposited?
A: Obviously, it will be duly adjusted and the rest refunded.

Ok, all this sounds quite interesting but what about the confidentiality and privacy of my medical reports that I will send over to you?
A: Being a professional company, your confidentiality is our priority. Your medical information is never disclosed to any unauthorized entity/individual. Rest assured.

I don’t know any body in India and I am traveling for the first time. Who will look after me over there?
A: Right from picking you up from the airport, nursing, your companion’s accommodation, transportation, recuperative holidays, dropping you back at the airport and following up in your home country – we and our partner doctors/hospitals take care of all this. We make sure that you go back to your country as a fully cured individual. You are always accompanied by our OCC Programme Manager.

Do I have to register myself upon reaching India?
A: Yes, anyone coming to India on Medical Visa needs to register within 14 days of arrival with the local FOREIGN REGISTRAR OFFICE (FRO). Charges are applicable for registration.

In case of our Pakistani patients, registration has to be done within 24 hours of arrival and for Afghani patients, it’s within a week.

What if I run short of money in India?
A: There are quite a few ways of receiving money from your home country such as by using the services of Western Union, Money Gram and banks.

All Major credit cards are also accepted by our hospitals/hotels/shops.

Can I travel abroad alone for my medical treatment? Is it something I can do alone? Should I take a companion?
A: We have found that medical treatment that is carried out away from your hometown or city is most successful when you have a travel companion.  This is especially true if you’re about to undergo extensive surgery or treatment.  Having a trusted friend or family member handle the paperwork, liaison between you and hospital staff, and keep you company will help remove some of the potential stress inherent both in travel and healthcare.

Adding a second person to the trip increases the cost.  Most people find that the extra expense is worth it, but ultimately, the decision is yours. In most cases, however, you could be surprised at how inexpensive the treatment is even with the cost of two people. In any case, we are always there for you safety and security.
